Specialist welding process
Aluminium welding is a specialist welding process that presents certain challenges and requirements due to the unique properties of aluminium. Aluminium has a low melting point and high thermal conductivity, which means the welding process must be carried out accurately and carefully to achieve quality welds. At Mantrec, our employees are specialists in aluminium welding. Aluminium is increasingly used in welding. The MIG welding, TIG welding and stud welding techniques can be applied to aluminium.
MIG/MAG welding of aluminium
At Mantrec, we specialise in aluminium welding using the MIG/MAG technique, a method that combines speed, efficiency, and precision. During this process, our welders use a continuously fed welding wire and shielding gas to prevent oxidation and guarantee a strong, clean joint. The type of gas determines the approach: inert gas for MIG welding and active gas for MAG welding. Aluminium requires specific knowledge for this, as the material absorbs heat rapidly, demanding extra accuracy.
