Murphy Switch EL 150K1

The Murphy Switch EL 150K1 is a liquid level gauge and a low-level switch in one. Each unit contains (1) a float chamber, (2) a dial with pointer, and (3) a low-level indicator. When the float is correctly installed and maintained, the float activates the pointer which both indicates the level during normal operation and closes a switch circuit when the level reaches a low setpoint.

Applications of the Murphy Switch

This Murphy level switch is mainly used for engine cooling systems, preventing sudden pressure surges in expansion tanks, condenser radiators or vapour pressure systems and pressure or atmospheric systems. The level switch can also be used to monitor lube oil, hydraulic fluid or diesel reservoirs and activate an alarm and/or shut-down at a pre-determined minimum level. Murphy instruments are built for low-pressure systems with a maximum of 172 pPa (1.72 bar).
